Veterans Day Parade 2023

General info

The Veterans Affiliated Council (VAC) is hosting our annual Veterans Day Parade this year, on November 11th 2023 in front of the Capitol in Sacramento, CA. We organize a parade which progresses through streets surrounding the Capitol building, and host a ceremony which includes a speech given by distinguished guest speakers who represent both highly experienced military veterans and government officials who assist the veteran community in various capacities.

This year’s theme is 75 years of women integration into the military and Ending of Vietnam War 50th anniversary.

Vendor booth rules & regulations

Rule Description
Booth sizes and rules Booth sizes will accommodate up to 10'x10' ft. and spaces for this event will be socially-distanced. 6 ft x 6 ft spaces and 4 ft x 6 feet space for a single table are also welcome.

No stakes may be driven into the ground in the booth area - so canopies and tents that may fly away must be heavily-weighted on all four corners, and may still need to be taken down if a breeze develops even if weighted. Do not set up canopies or tents unless there are heavy weights on all four corners, and do not drive stakes into the ground anywhere.
Location of the booth area The booths for the Veterans Parade will be on the grass area on the west side of the State Capitol Building. The boundaries for the booth area are located on the site map and you will be assigned a number.See map below for details.
Equipment drop-off Booth equipment drop-off will be on 10th St. from 8 am – 10 am. The earlier that booth participants arrive, the easier their parking experience will most likely be. All vehicles must be off 10th Sts. by 10 am and there will be no parking on 10th sts. during the parade.

We request that booth participants drop off booth equipment in under 10 mins. and move your vehicle to the nearest parking garage with available space before completing set-up. Parking on 9th and 10th Sts. after drop off will be at a premium, so completing equipment drop-off quickly and then moving 10th St. as soon as possible will help other booth participants drop off their equipment without blocking the flow of traffic. Please plan to complete your booth set up after parking your vehicle.

9th and 10th Sts. are both one-way streets - 9th Ave is south-bound only and 10th Ave. is north-bound only. Please choose your drop-off side accordingly.
Booth setup Booth set-up is from 8 am – 10 am.

Upon arrival, look for one of the two booth area coordinators; they will have a name badge identifying them and can direct you to the space for your booth. As the Parade begins at 11am and will pass by the Roundabout on 3 sides, all booth participants will want to have their booth set-up complete before the Parade passes by.
Break down Break-down is from 4:00-5:00pm.

Please break-down completely before parking your vehicle on 9th and 10th Sts. to load as quickly as possible and move away quickly so that other booth participants can load and move away quickly, too. The faster everyone can move away from the Roundabout, the better we will all experience this event.
